Celebrity birthdays in September

September is one of my most favorite months of the year. Fall is around the corner, and who doesn’t love the cool nights, snuggled with your loved one in a FlyLoVve hoodie?? But also, September is the month that my partner and true love was born! Now, as I celebrate him all month long, I wanted to see who else will be celebrating this month, so now I’m sharing this list with you - enjoy!

September 1: Zendaya (28 years old)

Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman is an American actress and singer.  From 2015 to 2018, she produced and starred as K.C. Cooper on the Disney Channel sitcom K.C. Undercover. She made her film breakthrough in 2017, starring as Michelle "MJ" Jones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero film Spider-Man: Homecoming and as Anne Wheeler in the musical drama film The Greatest Showman.

September 2: Katt Williams (53 years old)

Katt Williams, born in 1971, is a comedian, actor, and rapper known for his sharp wit and unapologetic humor. His stand-up specials, like The Pimp Chronicles, have made him a standout figure in comedy, and his roles in films like Friday After Next have solidified his place in the entertainment world.

September 3: Redfoo (49 years old)

Stephen Kendal Gordy aka Redfoo, is an American rapper, singer, composer, dancer, record producer and DJ best known for being part of the musical duo LMFAO, and for their hit song, "Party Rock Anthem". Redfoo formed the duo with his nephew, Sky Blu, in 2006. They released two studio albums before Redfoo went solo in 2013. He is the youngest son of Berry Gordy Jr, the founder of Motown Record Corporation.

September 4: Beyoncé Knowles-Carter (42 years old)

Beyoncé, born in 1981, is a global superstar whose influence spans music, fashion, and culture. With multiple Grammy Awards and iconic albums like Lemonade and Dangerously in Love, Queen Bey continues to reign supreme in the entertainment world.

September 5: Thomas Mikal Ford (would be 60 years old)

Thomas Mikal Ford, born in 1964, was best known for his role as Tommy on the hit TV show Martin. His character's mysterious job status became a running joke on the show, making him a beloved figure in black television. Ford passed away in 2016, leaving behind a legacy of laughter.

September 6: Idris Elba (52 years old)

Born in 1972, Idris Elba is a celebrated actor, DJ, and producer. Known for his roles in The Wire, Luther, and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Elba's versatility has made him one of the most respected actors of his generation.

September 7: Eazy-E (Would be 60 years old)

Eazy-E, born Eric Wright in 1964, was a rapper and a founding member of the iconic rap group N.W.A. Known as the "Godfather of Gangsta Rap," Eazy-E played a pivotal role in bringing West Coast rap to the forefront of the music industry with hits like Boyz-n-the-Hood. He passed away in 1995, but his legacy continues to influence the genre.

 

September 8: Kool Moe Dee (62 years old)

Kool Moe Dee, born in 1961, is a pioneering rapper who was one of the first to receive a Grammy Award for his work. A member of the influential group the Treacherous Three, Kool Moe Dee was instrumental in shaping the sound of early hip-hop with tracks like Wild Wild West.

 

September 9: Michael B. Jordan (37 years old)

Michael B. Jordan, born in 1987, is one of Hollywood's brightest stars. With critically acclaimed performances in Fruitvale Station, Creed, and Black Panther, Jordan has solidified his place as a leading man in the industry.

September 10: Big Daddy Kane (56 years old)

Big Daddy Kane, born Antonio Hardy in 1968, is one of the most influential rappers of all time. Known for his smooth flow and lyrical prowess, Kane was a major player in the golden age of hip-hop. His debut album Long Live the Kane is still regarded as a classic.

September 11: Ludacris (47 years old)

Christopher Brian Bridges aka Ludacris is an American rapper and actor. Ludacris is the founder of Disturbing tha Peace. Ludacris has won Screen Actors Guild, Critic's Choice, MTV, and 3 Grammy Awards. Along with fellow Atlanta-based rappers Big Boi and André 3000 of OutKast, Ludacris was one of the first and most influential "Dirty South" rappers to achieve mainstream success during the early 2000s.

September 12: Barry White (Would be 80 years old)

Barry White, born in 1944, was a singer, songwriter, and producer whose deep, soulful voice became synonymous with love ballads. Known for hits like Can’t Get Enough of Your Love, Babe and You're the First, the Last, My Everything, Barry White’s music continues to be a staple of romantic playlists worldwide.

September 13: Tavis Smiley (59 years old)

Tavis Smiley, born in 1964, is a talk show host, author, and political commentator known for his insightful interviews and discussions on social issues. As the host of The Tavis Smiley Show, he has been a prominent voice in the conversation around race, politics, and culture.

September 14: Nas (51 years old)

Nas, born Nasir Jones in 1973, is one of the most revered rappers in the history of hip-hop. His debut album, Illmatic, is widely regarded as a masterpiece and continues to influence artists across generations. Nas’s poetic storytelling and lyrical depth have made him an enduring figure in the music industry.

 

 

September 15: Barry Shabaka Henley (70 years old)

Barry Shabaka Henley is an American character actor. Henley has appeared as a regular in a number of television series, and has numerous film credits. In Ali, Henley played Herbert Muhammad. In Collateral, he portrayed a sensitive jazz musician living on borrowed time. He played Buddy in the 1998 film How Stella Got Her Groove Back and Pokerface in the 1999 film Life. In 2004 he appeared in Steven Spielberg's The Terminal, playing an airport U.S. Customs Officer. He also appeared in the 2016 film Paterson.

September 16: Musiq Soulchild (46 years old)

Musiq Soulchild, born Taalib Johnson in 1977, is an R&B and neo-soul singer known for his smooth vocals and hit songs like Love and Teachme. His unique blend of soul, R&B, and jazz has earned him a loyal fan base and critical acclaim.

September 17: Doug E. Fresh (58 years old)

Douglas Davis, better known by his stage name Doug E. Fresh (born September 17, 1966), is a Barbadian-born American rapper, record producer and beatboxer, also known as the "Human Beat Box". The pioneer of 20th-century American beatboxing, Fresh is able to accurately imitate drum machines and various special effects using only his mouth, lips, gums, throat, tongue and a microphone. In the early 1980s he formed the Get Fresh Crew with DJs Chill Will and Barry B and later added rapper Slick Rick. Two of their songs "The Show" and "La Di Da Di" are considered early hip hop classics. "La Di Da Di", in particular, is one of the most sampled songs in music history.

September 18: Ricky Bell (56 years old)

Ricky Bell, born in 1967, is a singer best known as a member of the pioneering R&B groups New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe. With hits like Candy Girl and Poison, Bell's smooth vocals have helped define the sound of R&B and New Jack Swing.

September 19: Sanaa Lathan (53 years old)

Sanaa McCoy Lathan is an American actress. From 2009 to 2013, she voiced Donna Tubbs as a voice actress in The Cleveland Show and in all concurrent and subsequent Family Guy appearances. She has starred in many films, including The Best Man (1999) and its 2013 sequel, The Best Man Holiday. Her other film credits include Love & Basketball (2000), Brown Sugar (2002), Alien vs. Predator (2004), Something New (2006), The Family That Preys (2008), Contagion (2011), and Now You See Me 2 (2016).

September 20: Aldis Hodge ( 42 years old)

Aldis Alexander Basil Hodge is an American actor, best known for his portrayal of Alec Hardison on the TNT series Leverage, MC Ren in the 2015 biopic Straight Outta Compton, Levi Jackson in the 2016 film Hidden Figures, and as Noah in the WGN America series Underground.

September 21: Alfonso Ribeiro (52 years old)

Alfonso Ribeiro, born in 1971, is an actor, director, and television personality best known for his role as Carlton Banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. His "Carlton Dance" became a cultural phenomenon, and Ribeiro has continued to entertain audiences as the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos.

September 22: Mystikal (54 years old)

Michael Lawrence Tyler (born September 22, 1970), better known by his stage name Mystikal, is an American rapper and actor from New Orleans, Louisiana. He is noted for brash, obstreperous vocal delivery, characterized by a Southern rasp.

September 23: Ray Charles (Would be 94 years old)

Ray Charles, born in 1930, was a legendary musician known as "The Genius" for his pioneering work in soul, R&B, and jazz. With hits like Georgia on My Mind and Hit the Road Jack, Charles's influence on music is immeasurable, and his legacy continues to inspire musicians across genres.

September 24: Malinda Williams (49 years old)

Williams is best known for her role as Bird in the Showtime drama series Soul Food, a continuation of the successful 1997 film of the same name. It also starred Nicole Ari Parker and Vanessa Estelle Williams. For her performance, Williams received three NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series nominations. The series aired from 2000 to 2004. Soul Food went on to be the longest running drama with a predominantly black cast in the history of American prime-time television.

September 25: Will Smith (55 years old)

Will Smith, born in 1968, is an actor, rapper, and producer who has become a global icon. From his early days as a rapper to his breakthrough role in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and blockbuster films like Men in Black and Ali, Smith’s career is nothing short of legendary.

September 26: Serena Williams (42 years old)

Serena Williams, born in 1981, is an African American tennis legend. With 23 Grand Slam singles titles, she has dominated women’s tennis for over two decades. Off the court, Williams is a powerful advocate for women’s rights and an entrepreneur.

September 27: Lil Wayne (42 years old)

Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. is an American rapper. Lil Wayne's career began in 1991 at the age of nine, when he was discovered by Bryan "Baby" Williams and joined Cash Money Records as the youngest member of the label, and half of the duo The B.G.'z, alongside fellow New Orleans-based rapper B.G., then known as Lil' Doogie.

September 28: Joe Torry (63 years old)

Joseph Pierre "Joe" Torry is an American actor and comedian. Appearing on earlier shows such as Roc and Amen jump started his television roles. It wasn't until 1992 when Torry would receive his big break, he was given the job of hosting Def Comedy Jam after host Martin Lawrence left the show, further enlarging his exposure in the entertainment industry. This also brought Torry larger roles in newer movies. He starred in Motives 1 & 2, Lock Down, Hair Show, Mannsfield 12, Poetic Justice, Sprung, and Tales from the Hood among others

September 29: tWitch (Would be 42 years old)

tWitch, born Stephen Laurel Boss in 1982, was a dancer, choreographer, and actor known for his incredible performances on So You Think You Can Dance and as the DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. His energy and talent made him a beloved figure in the dance community before his untimely passing in 2022.

September 30: T-Pain (39 years old)

T-Pain, born Faheem Najm in 1984, is a rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer known for popularizing the use of Auto-Tune in contemporary music. With hits like Buy U a Drank and Bartender, T-Pain’s influence on modern hip-hop and R&B is undeniable, making him a standout artist in the industry.
